Various Types of Coating Paints
Various paint available in the market have specific reasons why they are manufactured. Paints are liquid substances applied on an object which later dries to form a protective and decorative coating. Paints increase the beauty of the material of the object to which they are applied. There are many purposes on which paints can be implemented. One can use different methods in application of paints to the surface. Many brands of paints are manufactured using three types of ingredients. We have the pigment which assists in bringing out the color of the paint. The Liquid part of color is made up of the binder and the manufacturing liquid.
Intensity of the color is brought about by the pigment in the paint. Colour pigments absorb the ultraviolet radiation from the sun hence protecting the paints. The the easiest kind of paste that is used on the surfaces are the whitewash. Due to the lack of a binder in the whitewash paint it is therefore not useful in protecting the surfaces of the material. Binder is a film former or the resin generally in solid form. Its work is to holds the pigment together and helps the paint in sticking to the surface. During the paint manufacturing process a binder is used in making the components stick together.
A good paint for use should have some fundamental characteristics. Good paint is supposed to stick firmly to the surface where they are applied. When one is looking from far they should admire the evenness of the paint applied. Durable paints are the ones that can withstand harsh environmental conditions. Paints are formulated for different uses. Painting is done using different paints that are applied to various places for a purpose.
Primers and sealers are colors normally used on new and exposed woodwork. These colors can also be used in the plasters of walls. These are paints that stick well to the surface and provide a good protective coating to the surface they have been applied on. These paints can also be used in repainting of places that had painted before. Where primers and sealers are used the surfaces not easily affected by chemicals.
Some paints are referred to as undercoats. They are used hand in hand together with the sealers. When one wants to change the surface color they use undercoat. they are designed in such a way that they can be used in covering a dark color with a lighter color. There are paints that are applied as the top layer. They provide the final decorative and protective layer on a surface. One should be very careful in choosing the topcoat for it to be beautiful.
